My son plays little league baseball in Monroe & Eaton, Ohio. Being a photographer means that he has been photographed close to 5000 times. One of the things I love about shooting little league shots, is the contrast of youthful innocence, combined with the rugged grit of America's past time. In this shot I was grabbing some shots of the Eaton Little League "Coach Pitch" division that is comprised of 7 & 8 year olds, and caught this little girl taking her turn at the catcher position. It crossed my mind that by the time I had edited this shot and posted it, she was probably playing with her dolls again.

One Week Till Cincinnati Reds Opening Day
The Cincinnati Reds are now officially one week away from opening the 2009 baseball campaign. For the Reds to have a chance to contend this year, this man, relief pitcher Francisco Cordero is going to have to have a big year, shutting down opponents.
In this picture I caught Cordero in a game that featured the Cincinnati Red's vs. the LA Dodger's at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. If you look at the pitchers hand, you can see is throwing a circle change. Nikon D200, 80-200 2.8 lens at 1/1600th of a second.

8 Days Till Opening Day
Cincinnati Reds First Baseman, Joey Votto was one of 2008's bright spots and is on a tear with The Reds in Spring Training. I photographed Votto in this picture during a day game from the 3rd Base dugout, using a Nikon D200, and a 200mm 2.8 lens. Votto hit a long fly ball to left field in this shot. It is one of my favorite Cincinnati Reds photographs, because it is a tight crop and very different from most Reds Photographs.

War Paint
While covering a Monroe Hornet Softball game, I caught the third baseman in the act of gunning a runner down at first. In future postings I will share some of my techniques in capturing high quality "Sports Illustrated" style shots.

Monroe Lady Hornets
March 28th, The Monroe Hornet Highschool Softball team takes on The Badin Rams. For this photograph, I set updown the first base line and waited for the right moment. A lot of sports photography is about anticipation and luck. This batter ripped a shot into the gapfor a triple and I happen to catch her rounding first base.

Seems that I've always been lucky so far to have been able to catch Cincinnati Red's Outfielder Jay Bruce when he is about to hit a homerun. In this shot Bruce is loading up for a long drive into the right field bleachers.

After getting a qualification in basic photography and then later attending their Portrait School, he was assigned to a military operation.
Vincent Rush's experiences included USO photography for Bob Hope, Brooke Shields, Kathy Lee Crosby and Wayne Newton. He also had the opportunity for travel assignments to places such as Beruit, Israel, Africa, Australia, Brazil, Italy, Spain and England.

After putting photography on the back burner for several years and selling his original equipment, to focus on building a large and profitable Founders Emerald level business through Amway Global and the LTD team that allowed him to walk from corporate America at the age of 40, he has been able to pursue more of his own true passions such as time with family, travel, sports photography, special event and Cincinnati Reds photography.

Vincent Rush frequently is contracted by parents, sports teams, and organizations, throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio areas, to provide the highest quality sports photography, both on an individual and team basis.
So now, the question...why a blog? Well the first answer is, to learn how to do it. The second is as a promotional and marketing tool to advance my photography throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio region. Over the past couple of years I have rekindled the passion of photography that was rooted in my younger days and the first Pentax 35mm SLR I recieved for Christmas in 1976. It is one of my dreams to eventually contract to shoot sports photography at the highest levels. In Cincinnati, that would be the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals or a host of college teams.
